- Increase coordination amongst economic development entities, including the Entrepreneurial Development Center, Priority One, Chamber of Commerce, Downtown District, and the City;
- Continue to partner and advocate for investments and policies which contribute toward a growing and thriving downtown;
- Continue to pursue responsible budgeting which promotes accountability, predictability, and sustainable fiscal practices;
- Continue to push state government for property tax reform that reduces our over-reliance on property taxes and maintains community affordability;
- Support innovation in the arts and cultural institutions that contribute to our quality of life;
- Ensure environmental stewardship by implementing policies that reduce the impact of new and infill development on our environment and watershed;
- Continue to invest in quality of life amenities that make our community an attractive place in which to live, work, and play, a place we are proud to call home;
- Continue to invest in sustainable infrastructure, including roads, bridges, parks, trails, sewer and water, to reduce long-term operating costs;
- Preserve and protect the historic assets and icons that contribute to the character and identity of Cedar Rapids;
- Assist in growing and recruiting diversified businesses with financial support for the efforts and business plan of the Entrepreneurial Development Center.

- Supported the strategic realignment and reorganization of departments to more efficiently and cost-effectively deliver services;
- Encouraged the transformation of city culture to be more service-oriented and accountable;
- Made the development of responsible and predictable budget practices a priority and implemented Key Financial Strategies;
- Developed strategic partnerships with state and federal legislative delegations;
- Hired a city manager;
- Pushed for the use of LEAN events to improve the delivery of city services and operations and to continue commitment to improving how the city does business, eliminating unnecessary steps and unwanted waste;
- Encouraged civic participation, making sure government is connected to residents;
- Advocated for the development of the Enhance Our Neighborhoods initiative;
- Advanced a trail master plan and Bicycle Friendly Community initiative;
- Pursued and implemented Complete Streets and Context Sensitive Design and Solutions policies;
- Hired a new police chief and pushed for increased presence and involvement in neighborhoods;
- Advocated for stepped-up code enforcement in neighborhoods and provided resources to enhance communication between departments;
